The January 24-25, 2026 Snow Storm!

Notice Zeta Alpha House in the first picture on the left below!

Comments from the university: SRU stands for “Snow Rallies Us” this week. We know we have a campus community of resilient competitors in whatever we face, even if we’re wearing ski masks and the opposition is a snowstorm. Here’s a hearty hello from beneath the 17 inches of snow. It won’t be long before we are all back together, because our Facilities and Grounds staff are hard at work clearing the five miles of two-lane roadways, 13 miles of sidewalks, 40 acres of parking lots and 1,135 steps. The Rock is rising – even in the snow!

Senior Spotlight – Brother Johnny Grimm

“Honesty I don’t know why Theta Chi, maybe it was Kiran blowing up my phone, maybe it was going to the Early Childhood Education Club bingo freshman year or even going to the old Theta Chi house, I simply do not know. I signed my bid and took the chance at this new opportunity. The gamble paid off and I made an incredible choice. I have met plenty of amazing people both in Theta Chi and Greek life. I got the privilege to live in the old Theta Chi house and make some amazing best friends from it too (Shoutout Elm crew: Big Joe, Rider, & Kiran)! Thank you everyone within Theta Chi for this amazing experience. I love you all! Rush Theta Chi for a new opportunity! 🤘🏻⬇️🔥”

‼️Why Theta Chi?? Why not??‼️

Joining Theta Chi has been the most rewarding journey I’ve gone through. In a world of turbulence and uncertainty, these gentlemen have pushed me through immense development socially, professionally, and defined my character for a lifetime. I’ve found a foundation in this fraternity that has provided a wealth of happiness and confidence to be unapologetically myself. Putting aside the career and leadership development, and scholarship opportunities, this brotherhood has been such a bright and positive influence on quite possibly every aspect of my life. I tell everyone I pitch Greek Life to that you get out of it what you put in, and I’ve gotten everything I’ve put into this fraternity back ten fold. From the first time I walked through the doors of ole’ Elm St, (now on 115 Kiester) I knew joining this organization would be an incredibly impactful experience, and one I wouldn’t trade for the world. Maybe I’m biased, but I think you should #RUSHΘΧ 🫡#ResoluteMen

‼️Happy Chi Day‼️

There’s still a few more opportunities to meet the brothers. We’ve had a great rush so far🤙🏾 Stay safe and warm this weekend!

Chi Day

Why Chi? Wednesday.
Hear from our brother Jake Levy
💭

“I don’t even know where to start lol, looking back to who I was when I rushed in Spring 24, I felt directionless, I had no intentions of being apart of Greek life, let alone now being Chapter President and IFC President. It truly is a surreal feeling just how much this fraternity and the people I’ve met have helped shape me into the person I am today. The memories I have with these guys, I’ll hold dearly for the rest of my life. To think, this all started from randomly making bread in a fraternity house; no looking back now. You don’t get to pick who’s your blood, but I got to choose who I call my brothers, and I would pick these guys over and over again every chance I could.”

‼️It’s Officially Chi Day‼️

With rush complete, we are so excited to include our new members into our brotherhood. Warmer days are ahead of us. Stay safe and have a good weekend👏🏻 @thetachirush @sru.greek

Brother of the Month – January

‼️“With his incredible efforts as Community service chair, we recognize Brother Austin Stein as our January Brother of the Month”‼️

I am very grateful to be recognized by my brothers, whose hard work and dedication push me to be a better and resolute man. Without them setting the standard for me, I could not be the man I strive to be. As Mike Tomlin once said, “the standard is the standard”. @austin_.steinn @sru.greek @thetachifraternity

‼️Why Chi Wednesday‼️
Hear from our brother Connor Solomon💭

“Why Theta Chi? I initially had no plans of joining any sort of Greek org my freshman year and the beginning of my sophomore year I had the same mindset. But when I moved into my dorm for the year, I found out we were getting a random roommate. Little did I know he’d change my outlook completely, Breadman as we call him, was already in Theta Chi and wearing his hoodies all the time. He eventually asked me if I wanted to check them out, I was hesitant but went anyways. As I made my rounds to all the rush events and meeting everyone I felt a sense of belonging. Being around the guys just made sense and that is when I chose to rush Theta Chi. I got a bid my 1st sophomore semester and I haven’t looked back. All the guys are very supportive and are just a good time. I never felt more a part of something than being in Theta Chi. I have not looked back since joining and I will harp that fraternities are more than friends. It’s a community a support system and a way to get out. It is a decision that could get you where you need to be and I am sure there and I never thought I’d be a part of something like this. 🤘👇

‼️Why Chi Wednesday‼️

Hear from our brother Robbie Sloan💭

“Really thinking about it, the only reason I ever joined this fraternity is because of Kiran. I never wanted to be in one, but all it took was one conversation to change my perspective. After he gave me the chance to meet the brothers and see the relationships they had formed, I felt like I needed to at least give it a chance. I still remember my first night at the old Elm House and realizing it felt different from what I expected. Looking back, I’ve never been happier with a decision in my college career. It’s easier to grow when you’re surrounded by people who push you and support you, and that’s exactly what I found in Theta Chi. I’ve been very lucky to meet so many longtime friends and build relationships that will go way beyond just college. It will always be crazy to me how one

‼️Why Chi Wednesday ‼️

When I first came to Slippery Rock I had no interest at all on joining Greek life. But when fall 24, came around and I still didn’t know many people around on campus Theta Chi stuck out to me as a way for me to branch out more. When I was rushing I found out that it was something that I really wanted to be apart of. All of the people were very welcoming and supportive. I feel like every semester I’m apart of Theta Chi, it just gets better and better making new memories and always finding new people to meet. There’s not a day that goes by where I regret making the decision on joining. It has made me more active on campus and now walking around I see more familiar faces. I would recommend to anyone who needs a way to find a way to represent themselves more or just a way to get your name out there more to give Greek life a try.🐡

According to a peer-reviewed study titled “Social Animal House: The Economic and Academic Consequences of Fraternity Membership” by researchers at Union College, fraternity membership is associated with a 36% boost in lifetime earnings compared to non-Greek graduates.

With the benefit rising to 46.8% when GPA is held constant.
